Welcome to Taiwan

Happy summer! I want to welcome you to Taiwan for the study abroad program. Some of you have arrived in Taiwan, and for those who will arrive on September 1st, I wish you a safe and pleasant trip.

The check-in time for Tango Shilin is 4 pm on 9/1. You can find your room number on the Google Sheet. If you arrive early, you can leave your luggage at the hotel and tour Taipei a bit. We will meet at the hotel lobby at 6:30 pm and walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner. You can find all the travel information on Canvas, including itinerary, transportation, contacts, and more. If you have further questions, please let me know.

During the program, we will use Google Calendar and Canvas as our main communication channels. Details of each trip is provided in Google Calendar to ensure everyone knows where, how, and when to meet. Additionally, please join our Discord channel and start to use Blogger, which is our blogging platform for individual assignments and group posts. The public site for the program is https://uwdesignintaiwan24.blogspot.com/. I will also post information about our trips at the Director's Corner blog on Blogger. Special thanks to Jessy and the assignment team for setting up the site.

Also, we will book the return THSR ticket for you scheduled to depart from 12:18 pm at Tainan and arrive at Taoyuan at 2:09pm on September 21. However, if you want to take a different train, please specify your train number and date at Google sheet, under the tab "Flight and Train" before 9/4.

Lastly, it is advice to bring your own mug and cutlery to reduce the use of disposable utensils, and swimsuit if you want to swim at the hotel.

Bon voyage!

Valentina at Trash Kitchen even showed me a record of my visit from July last year, which surprised me with how well they keep their records. We were connected through a designer who worked at Miniwiz, the company behind Trash Kitchen. Later that day, Kiki, the local coordinator, and I enjoyed an amazing éclai
